The name ProMotion is a play on words that reflects the heart of this work.
Pro means being for movement, while also representing a professional standard of guidance and care.
Motion is not just movement. It is change. It is progress. It is the process of coming unstuck.
At its core, ProMotion represents a professional approach to helping people move, grow, and keep living actively with confidence.
Why ProMotion Exists
ProMotion exists to help people stay strong, active, and independent for as long as possible.
Pain, setbacks, and physical limitations can slowly start to shrink people’s lives. People stop doing the things they love, lose confidence in their body, and begin accepting compromise as normal. ProMotion was built to help change that.
The goal is to help people move forward with more strength, more resilience, and more trust in their body so they can keep living fully.
At ProMotion, strength is not just about performance or appearance. It’s about healthspan, not just lifespan. It’s about staying capable, staying engaged in life, and keeping the freedom to do the things that matter most.
Strength is not just about performance or appearance. It’s about confidence. It’s about resilience. It’s about having a body that supports your life, not one that holds you back.
Behind ProMotion
I’m Lara olde Bolhaar, founder of ProMotion.
Originally from the Netherlands, I’ve always been active, but I didn’t always feel strong or confident in my body.
My own journey with strength training changed that. Finding Olympic weightlifting, and later CrossFit, shifted the way I saw my body, my capabilities, and what strength really means. What started as physical training became something much bigger: resilience, confidence, and the realization that strength is about far more than appearance.
That journey was not without setbacks. Injuries, pain, frustration, and self-doubt were part of the process too. I know what it feels like to be stuck in your body, unsure where to start, or afraid of moving in the wrong direction.
That experience is a big part of what led to ProMotion. It shaped the way I see this work and continues to drive the way I coach: with clarity, purpose, and a focus on helping people build strength they can actually use in life.
